We are a few steps away from the Platja Llarga (Long Beach) of Tarragona, a natural environment of incalculable value. The beach is 4 km. long and is one of the best on the coast. It is spacious, with very fine sand and it has showers and lifeguard services. The Platja Llarga leads to the Marquesa Forest, a large space of cluster pines with several species of flora and fauna. If you enter quietly and wait you will see squirrels and various birds jumping from branch to branch, pines twisted by the wind meet the rocks and mix with the seaside bushes. The Marquesa Forest is a wonderful place, a natural jewel that we must enjoy and preserve.

Near the camping you will find the Cantera del Mèdol, a stone quarry of Roman origin that, after some centuries, has been reclaimed by nature. The result is a very special forest, in the middle of which there is a monolith that marks the level of the stone before the beginning of the rock extraction. You can see it from a little balcony on the left of the stone quarry or you can walk through the forest. You can reach the Mèdol from the service area of the AP7, from the rotunda of La Punta de la Mora, at the N-340 or walking from the Torre dels Escipions. If you want more information about the excursion you can visit the website of Palau Robert. You can visit the Mèdol from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9 am to 8 pm., Sunday and holidays, from 9 am to 3 pm. In the city of Tarragona you will find many Roman remains. We recommend a walk around the city, up and down the Rambles, the old city and the circus, the amphitheatre, the Forum, the walls, and the archaeological museum. You can buy a ticket to visit the various historical places. If you want more information about the city of Tarragona we recommend the website of the Museu d'Història de Tarragona. At the Palau Robert website you will find three routes to visit Tarragona on foot. The Tarragona coast has very special places like the Ebro Delta, the Prades Mountains and the Sierra of Montsant. You can enjoy the traditional cuisine and a great variety of quality wines from the Tarragona regions. If you want more information about the regions, visit the website of the Patronat de Turisme of the Costa Daurada. |
